Project Manager

Arannayk Foundation is going to implement a project titled “Beyond Border: Securing Big Cats and their habitats across Chittagong-Lushai Transboundary Landscape of Bangladesh and India” funded by IUCN under the Integrated Tiger Habitat Conservation Programme (ITHCP) to conserve the endangered Indo-Chinese clouded leopard and Leopard across the ecologically significant Chittagong Hill Tracts in Bangladesh and the Lushai Hills in Mizoram, India. The duration of the project is 30 months. The main focus of the project is to protect the big cats, restore ecological connectivity, reduce Human-Wildlife Conflicts (HWC), and develop socio-economic resilience, positioning conservation as a shared responsibility for local people and indigenous communities (IPLC).


To implement the project, Arannayk Foundation is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of ‘Project Manager’ who will be based in Rangamati with frequent field visit to the project sites of Rangamati and Bandarban.


Key Responsibilities

Under the overall guidance from the Executive Director and the Head of Programs and direct supervision of Project Lead of Arannayk Foundation, the Project Manager will be part of a diversified team and will be responsible for the overall coordination, management, and implementation of this project at the field level, ensuring achievement of project outcomes and deliverables in line with donor requirements.


The main tasks for this position would be, but not necessarily limited to, the following:

A. Project Management

  1. Lead in planning, coordination, and execution of all planned activities of assigned projects, 
  2. Develop detailed implementation plans, work breakdown structures, and timelines, ensuring effective use of resources and timely delivery of outputs.
  3. Ensure effective use of financial resources as per the approved organizational and project budget.
  4. Monitor project risks and challenges proactively, develop mitigation plans, and ensure adaptive management practices are in place.
  5. Ensure compliance with donor regulations, organizational policies, and national laws across all program operations.
  6. Represent the project in internal and external meetings, stakeholder engagements, and donor reviews as the key focal point.
  7. Facilitate coordination and communication with all the partner organization in Bangladesh and India to ensure seamless transboundary collaboration.
  8. Coordinate with local and sub-national government institutions to align project interventions with development priorities.
  9. Manage the project budget and ensure compliance with all financial procedures and donor requirements.
  10. Ensure integration of Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) principles in all project interventions.


B. Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL)

  1. Ensure the project activities are implemented following the agreed logical framework and monitoring plan along the ESMP document.  
  2. Ensure regular update and verify the activity summary and monitoring data into the project’s monitoring system as suggested by the MEL unit of Arannayk Foundation.
  3. Supervise the collection, analysis, and use of quantitative and qualitative data to track project progress, identify trends, and measure impact.
  4. Support the baseline studies, mid-term reviews, final evaluations, and learning assessments in collaboration with internal teams and external consultants.


C. Staff Management

  1. Supervise staff members on promoting a culture of performance, accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
  2. Assign responsibilities, supervise task execution, and conduct regular performance appraisals to ensure individual and team effectiveness.
  3. Facilitate regular team meetings, learning exchanges, and mentoring sessions to promote knowledge sharing and continuous development.
  4. Support recruitment, onboarding, and capacity building of project staff in collaboration with HR.


D. Other

  1. Prepare and submit high-quality donor reports, dashboards, and data briefs that clearly communicate project progress, results, and learning.
  2. Ensure weekly social media content highlighting project interventions and achievements, staff and beneficiary spotlight, etc.
  3. Ensure Arannayk Foundation’s compliance for implementing any activities. 
  4. Ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful work environment aligned with the organization’s values, safeguarding policy, and wellbeing principles.
  5. Conduct any other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director and the Head of Programs of Arannayk Foundation on a day-to-day basis.



POSITION SPECIFICATION – Project Manager

Qualifications & Experience required for the position


Formal/Academic Education


Master’s degree with Bachelor's in Forestry, Environmental Science, Zoology, Geography, Soil Science, Marine Science, Natural Resource Management related subjects, Development Studies, Social Science or related field. 


Working experience


  • At least 8 years of experience in wildlife, forestry or natural resource management sector, with at least three (03) years of experience in project management.
  • Having experience in wildlife conservation and management-related programs will get preference.
  • Proven working experience in managing multi-stakeholder projects involving communities, NGOs, and government agencies.
  • Strong skills in participatory planning, community mobilization, and GESI integration.
  • Demonstrated capacity to produce high-quality reports, financial documentation, and donor deliverables.
  • Having experience working in Chittagong Hill Tracts will get preference.


Skill and competencies 


  • Strong leadership, coordination, and team management skills.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and negotiation abilities.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work in complex socio-political contexts.
  • Proficiency in English and Bangla language.
  • Computer literacy: MS Office.

Consolidated monthly salary BDT 145,599 -154,335.
